ClearFrame Acrylic Digital Photo Frame

Most digital frames are a screen in a plastic surround tethered to a outlet. The ClearFrame takes a different approach: an acrylic body that reads as a piece of glass on the shelf, and a battery inside so it does not need to live next to a plug.

The panel is IPS rather than a cheaper TN type, which matters for something you walk past rather than sit in front of. IPS holds its color and contrast when viewed from an angle, so a photo still looks right from across the room or from a chair beside the shelf instead of washing out the moment you move off center.

Running on its own battery makes it genuinely portable: it can move to a dinner table, travel to a relative's house, or sit on a mantelpiece with no cable running down the wall. Charge it over USB when the battery runs low. Keep it out of direct sunlight for long periods and away from damp, and charge fully before first use.
