French Textured Resin Wall Lamp

Resin can be finished to look like almost anything, and here it is worked to resemble hand-applied plaster: a matte, slightly uneven surface with visible tool texture rather than the glassy smoothness resin usually falls into.

That finish is what places it. French interior lighting has a long habit of fittings that look like part of the wall rather than objects hung on it, and a plaster-textured sconce reads exactly that way, particularly against a limewashed or matte-painted surface.

The light emerges softly through and around the form rather than from an exposed source, so the texture is lit from the side and the surface shows its full relief. Expect small variations between pieces, which is the nature of a cast and hand-finished material. This is a hard-wired fitting: isolate the circuit at the breaker panel before installation, and have a qualified electrician carry out the work if you are not confident with house wiring.
