Handmade Bamboo Woven Bedside Lamp

A woven shade lights the room twice. Some of the output passes through the gaps in the bamboo and lands on the walls and ceiling as a fine pattern of lines, so switching the lamp on changes the surfaces around it rather than only adding brightness.

Each shade is woven by hand over a frame, so the tension varies slightly across the piece and the shadow pattern it throws is its own. The bamboo is left in its natural color under a clear finish, which keeps the tone warm and sits easily with linen, timber and plants.

Dimmable output means it covers both a reading level and a very low glow for later, and USB power means it can share a bedside adapter rather than taking a outlet. Use it with the supplied cool-running LED rather than substituting anything hotter, since natural fiber and sustained heat should not be combined. Dust with a soft dry brush.
