Solar removes the problem that stops most gardens being lit properly: there is no power where the light is wanted, and running an armored cable across a lawn is a disproportionate job. This charges from its own panel and switches on at dusk, so it needs nothing beyond a position in the sun.

Three sizes are offered - small, medium and large - so the same design can mark a border edge and a patio corner at appropriate scales. It is built for ordinary outdoor exposure, but no certified IP or weather rating is supplied for it, so site it where water will not pool around it rather than in a position that floods. Position the panel where it gets direct sun for most of the day, since run time depends entirely on charge, and expect shorter operation in winter and after overcast days. Keep the panel clear of leaves and dirt, and bring units in over hard frost to protect the internal cell.
