Surface Mounted LED Downlight

Recessed downlights require cutting holes in a ceiling, which rules them out in a rental, in a concrete ceiling, or anywhere with insufficient void above. A surface-mounted downlight gives the same directional spot light and simply screws to the surface instead.

That makes it one of the more useful fittings to know about. A kitchen, a hallway, a landing or a shop unit can get a proper array of spots without any structural work, and the fittings can be repositioned later without leaving holes to make good.

Two output levels are available - 9W for general spacing and 15W where more light is needed or ceilings are higher - across eight configurations. Integrated LEDs run cool and need no lamp changes. This is an indoor fitting: it carries no weather rating and should not be installed in a bathroom zone, on a porch, or anywhere exposed to damp. It is a hardwired fitting - isolate the circuit at the breaker panel first, and have a qualified electrician confirm the fixture's rated voltage before wiring it in.
