Industrial Resin Hand Wall Sconce

A sculpted hand reaching out of the wall to hold a bulb is a device borrowed from set design and old hotel corridors, and it works for the same reason there as here: it turns a light fitting into a small piece of theatre without needing anything else in the room to cooperate.

Cast in resin, the hand takes fine surface detail, and the finish is applied so the recesses read darker and the raised areas catch light. That is what keeps it looking sculptural rather than like a molded novelty, and it holds up to being examined at close range in a hallway.

Because the bulb is fully exposed, your choice of bulb is part of the design: a clear filament bulb suits the reference, a frosted warm one softens it. Use a low-wattage bulb, as resin should not be exposed to sustained high heat. This is a hard-wired fitting: isolate the circuit at the breaker panel before installation, and use a qualified electrician if you are not confident with house wiring.
