Iron & Glass Hallway Ceiling Light

Hallways get the least design attention and the most traffic. This fitting is built for that job specifically: a shallow iron frame holding a clear or lightly frosted glass shade, mounted flush so nothing hangs into the space where people carry bags, buggies and boxes past each other.

The glass is the part that makes it work in a narrow space. A solid shade would throw all its light straight down and leave the walls dark, which makes a corridor feel tighter than it is. Letting light through the sides instead lifts the walls and the ceiling, and a hallway that is lit all over simply reads as wider.

The iron frame is powder-coated for durability and comes in finishes that suit both period hallways and new-build landings. It takes a standard screw-fit bulb, so you can choose warm light for an entrance or something crisper for a stairwell. This is a hard-wired fitting: isolate the circuit at the breaker panel before installation, and have a qualified electrician fit it if you are not confident working with house wiring.
