LumiBlock Rechargeable Wood-Grain Wall Lamp

The LumiBlock is a wall light for walls that have no wiring in them. It carries its own rechargeable cell and sits on a magnetic or adhesive mounting plate, so it can go beside a bed, along a staircase or inside a cabinet without an electrician ever being involved.

That makes it particularly suited to rented flats, where drilling and rewiring are usually out of the question, and to older houses where the outlet layout was decided long before anyone owned a bedside phone charger. Placement becomes reversible: try it somewhere, move it the next day.

The block form comes in four finishes - two warm wood-grain tones, plus plain white and black - and the light emerges from a diffused face rather than an exposed LED, so there is no glare when you pass it at eye level. The light color switches between warm white, natural white and cold white. It lifts off its plate to charge over standard USB. Keep the charging port dry, charge fully before first use, and unplug it once charged rather than leaving it on charge unattended overnight.
