Macaron Colored Glass LED Wall Lamp

Coloured glass does something to light that a coloured shade cannot. Instead of blocking the output and showing colour only on its own surface, a tinted glass shade colours the light as it passes through, so the glow that lands on the wall carries the tint with it.

Five shades are offered and they do not all behave the same way. Green, red and pink are the tinted ones and colour the light itself; white gives a plain even diffused glow; black is opaque and throws the light out of the openings rather than through the shade. The macaron palette keeps the tints soft rather than saturated, so the effect is a warm wash of colour rather than a coloured spotlight.

The LED behind the glass is integrated and runs cool, which matters when the shade is within reach and likely to be touched. It is supplied in a single 12 cm size and the bracket is minimal so the glass is what you see. If it is going in a child's room, mount it out of reach and have the wiring done professionally. It is a hardwired fitting - isolate the circuit at the breaker panel first, and have a qualified electrician confirm the fixture's rated voltage before wiring it in.
