Marble & Glass Gold Wall Sconce

Three materials, clearly separated. A marble element provides weight and natural pattern, a glass shade carries the light, and a gold frame joins them. Nothing pretends to be anything else, and the junctions between them are the only detailing on the piece.

Marble is the element that varies. Cut from natural stone, each fitting carries its own veining, so two mounted either side of a bed will be related rather than identical. Gold is used sparingly, at the frame rather than across a surface, which keeps the fitting from tipping into showiness.

The glass diffuses the source completely, so there is no bright point at eye level and the light stays comfortable in a bedroom or beside a seating area. Marble adds weight, so fix into a sound substrate with rated anchors rather than drywall alone. This is a hard-wired fitting: isolate the circuit at the breaker panel before installation, and use a qualified electrician if you are not confident with house wiring.
