Modern Wooden Semi-Flush Ceiling Light

Semi-flush is the compromise that usually works. It sits close enough to the ceiling to keep headroom in a normal room, but drops just far enough to let light escape upward as well as down, which stops the ceiling going dark and the room feeling lower than it is.

This version puts a warm wood-finish body around the fitting, which is a rarer choice than metal and a more forgiving one. A wood tone picks up the colours already in a room's floor and furniture, so the light stops reading as hardware and starts reading as part of the joinery. Against white plaster the contrast is soft rather than stark.

The diffuser spreads output evenly with no visible source, so there is nothing to catch your eye when you look up from a bed or a sofa. Two finishes are offered, a brown tone and a lighter wood tone. It is a hardwired fitting - isolate the circuit at the breaker panel first, and have a qualified electrician confirm the fixture's rated voltage before wiring it in.
