A cone is the most efficient shade shape there is. The angled walls reflect light downward and outward in a controlled spread, so almost nothing is wasted sideways and the pool below has a defined edge rather than fading away indistinctly.

Made in timber rather than metal, that efficiency comes with warmth. The wood absorbs a little of the light and returns the rest with a softer tone, and the outside of the shade stays a warm object in the room rather than a reflective one. Over a dining table the difference is immediately noticeable.

The grain runs through each shade individually, so no two are the same, and hung in a row the variation reads as natural rather than inconsistent. Drop length is adjustable at installation to suit ceiling height and table position. This is a hard-wired fitting: isolate the circuit at the breaker panel before installation, and have a qualified electrician carry out the work if you are not confident with house wiring.
