Orbit Weave Geometric Velvet Rug

Velvet pile does something a flat weave cannot: it changes tone depending on the direction you look at it from, because the fibers lie one way and reflect light accordingly. A geometric pattern printed on that surface gains depth as you move around the room.

The geometry itself is the useful part in a plain room. A rug is usually the largest single area of pattern in a living space, so it can carry a scheme on its own without anything else needing to be patterned, and it defines a seating area that would otherwise float on bare floor.
