Three materials, each doing one job. Travertine provides mass and texture at the top of the fitting, wood provides warmth in the middle, and glass carries the light at the bottom. Nothing is decorative for its own sake, and the joins between them are the only detailing on the piece.

Travertine is the element that makes each one different. Formed around mineral springs over long periods, the stone carries fine banding and small natural voids that vary from block to block, so no two fittings share a pattern. Those voids are characteristic of the material rather than defects in it.

The glass shade below diffuses the source into a soft even glow, which keeps the fitting comfortable over a dining table where people sit facing it. Stone adds weight, so fix into a joist or a suitably rated anchor rather than drywall alone. This is a hard-wired fitting: isolate the circuit at the breaker panel before installation, and use a qualified electrician if you are not confident with house wiring.
