The Flora arranges its shade into overlapping petal layers rather than a single continuous surface, and the difference shows in how the light behaves. Some escapes between the layers and travels sideways and upward, so the fitting lights the ceiling around it instead of only pushing down.

That upward spill matters in rooms where one pendant is doing all the work. A closed shade leaves everything above the fitting dark, which makes a ceiling feel lower; letting light past the edges lifts the whole space and softens the contrast between the lit table and the room around it.

The layered form also gives the piece shape when it is off, so it is worth looking at during the day rather than being a blank object waiting for dusk. Drop length is adjustable at installation. This is a hard-wired fitting: isolate the circuit at the breaker panel before installation, and have a qualified electrician carry out the work if you are not confident with house wiring.
