Lira Dome Metal Pendant Light

A shallow dome is the quietest shape a pendant can take. The Lira is a single pressed metal curve with a matt painted outer face and a reflective inner one, hung from a slim cable with no visible hardware beyond the ceiling cup. Seen from directly below it reads as a plain circle; seen across a room it is barely there at all.

The shallow profile is a functional choice, not only a visual one. A deep shade concentrates light into a narrow cone; this one spreads it wide, so a single pendant covers a whole dining table rather than lighting only the centre of it. The pale inner surface bounces the source around inside the dome before it leaves, which softens the edge of the pool underneath and keeps glare out of the eyeline of anyone sitting at the table.

Finishes run from matt black and white through to warm orange and wine red, and the cable length is set at installation, so the same fitting works low over an island or high in a stairwell. It takes a standard screw-fit bulb. This is a hardwired fitting: isolate the circuit at the breaker panel before installation, and use a qualified electrician if you are not confident with house wiring.
