The folding head is what makes this adaptable after installation. The body pivots, so the same fitting can wash a wall, throw light down onto a path or angle out across a driveway, and it can be repositioned later without redrilling anything.

The motion sensor option changes what the light is for. Rather than burning all night, it stays dark until something approaches, which saves energy, avoids annoying neighbors with a permanently lit elevation, and makes the sudden illumination far more noticeable than a light that was already on.

Set the sensor's sensitivity and duration to suit the position, and aim it away from a public sidewalk or a road, where passing traffic will trigger it constantly. IP65 means it is sealed against dust and jetted water. Use exterior-rated cable and glands and check the gaskets seat properly. This is a hard-wired outdoor fitting: isolate the circuit first and use a qualified electrician.
