Waterproof Up & Down Outdoor Sconce

An up-and-down fitting turns the wall into the light source. Two beams leave the body, one climbing and one falling, and what you see from a distance is the pattern they draw on the brickwork or render rather than a bright point. Along a driveway or either side of a door the effect is architectural.

Because the LEDs are recessed at each end, there is no glare at eye level as you walk past, which matters more outdoors than indoors: an exposed exterior source dazzles you against a dark background and ruins your night vision on the path.

The housing is sealed for exterior use. Check the IP rating of the variant against the exposure of your wall, use exterior-rated cable and glands, and make sure gaskets are correctly seated on reassembly. This is a hard-wired outdoor fitting: isolate the circuit at the breaker panel before starting, and have a qualified electrician carry out the installation.
