Nordic Solid Wood Pendant Light

Wood is an unusual material for a pendant and a very good one. It brings warmth that metal cannot, it takes light softly rather than reflecting it into hot spots, and it ages into something better rather than something tired. This fitting is turned from solid timber rather than veneered, so the grain runs through the piece.

The shape is kept simple, a clean tapered form with an open mouth, which puts a defined circle of light on the table below while the timber body stays warm-toned in the ambient light of the room. Over a dining table that combination is exactly right: a lit surface, and a fitting above it that feels like furniture.

Because every piece of timber differs, the grain pattern on each shade is its own. Hung as a group the variation reads as natural rather than inconsistent. Drop length is adjustable at installation to suit your ceiling height. This is a hard-wired fitting: isolate the circuit at the breaker panel before installation, and have a qualified electrician fit it if you are not confident with house wiring.
