Nordic Round Glass LED Wall Sconce

This sconce is closer to a lit disc than a lamp. A round glass panel sits proud of a slim backplate, and the LED is hidden behind the rim so the light appears at the edge and travels inward, giving the whole face an even halo rather than a visible source.

The result works in two registers at once. At full output it is enough to light a reading chair or a landing; turned low, or used as a pair either side of a bed, it becomes ambient and sculptural, the kind of light you leave on because the room looks better with it than without. Off, it reads as a piece of wall decoration rather than a fitting waiting to be used.

The glass has a frosted finish, which is what keeps the halo even and stops any bright point showing through. The backplate is kept small and finished to match, so the disc appears to float slightly off the wall. This is a hard-wired fitting: isolate the circuit at the breaker panel before installation, and have a qualified electrician carry out the work if you are not confident with house wiring.
