Outdoor Polyester Chair Seat Pad

Hard garden chairs are fine for twenty minutes and unpleasant after an hour, which is why outdoor meals so often end earlier than anyone intended. A seat pad is the cheapest possible fix for that, and it changes how long people are willing to stay at a table.

Outdoor polyester is chosen because it sheds light rain and dries quickly rather than absorbing water like an indoor cushion, and because it holds its color under UV considerably better than cotton, which fades noticeably within a single summer.

Ties at the rear corners hold the pad to the chair so it does not slide off when someone stands up or blow away in a gust. Bring pads in during heavy rain and store them dry over winter: outdoor fabric resists water but is not designed to sit soaked for days, and prolonged damp will eventually cause mildew inside the filling.
