Amphibious Remote Control Monster Truck

An amphibious RC truck removes the one thing that ends most remote control sessions early: the edge of the usable surface. Grass, gravel, sand, mud and shallow water are all in play, so a walk to the park or the beach turns into somewhere it can actually be driven.

Oversized tires do most of the work on land, clearing obstacles a low-slung car would ground on, and sealed housings let it enter water without immediately drowning the electronics. On water it floats and drives, which is genuinely novel to watch the first few times.

Rinse it with fresh water after use in salt water or muddy ponds, and dry it before storing, as trapped grit and salt do far more damage than the water itself. Check that the battery compartment and seals are closed properly before every water run. Adult supervision is recommended around water, and children should never enter deep water to retrieve it: use a net or a line instead.
