Resin River Acacia Charcuterie Board

The river board takes two halves of live-edge timber, sets them apart, and fills the gap between them with colored resin. Because the natural edges are never straight, the resin channel wanders the length of the board, and no two are ever the same shape.

Acacia does the structural work. It is a dense, closely grained hardwood with real tonal variation, warm enough to contrast against a blue or amber pour and hard enough to survive being used rather than only displayed.

It is a serving and presentation board rather than a chopping block. Knife work on the resin will scratch it permanently, so cut elsewhere and arrange here. Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, dry immediately, and never put it in a dishwasher or leave it soaking, both of which will split the timber and lift the resin from the wood over time. Oil the wood periodically with a food-safe board oil.
