The Rilna is a wooden lamp with a joint in it, which is rarer than it sounds. Most timber lamps are rigid because wood is awkward to hinge well; here the arm articulates cleanly, so the light can be lowered over a page or lifted out of the way without the movement feeling like an afterthought.

The rest of the design stays deliberately spare. A plain base, a straight arm, a simple head, no visible fasteners. That restraint is what lets the material carry the piece: the grain is the only pattern anywhere on it, and the finish is matte enough to show it properly.

The warm LED runs cool, so the head can be repositioned at any time without waiting for anything to cool down, and the output sits at a comfortable level for reading rather than flooding a room. The base is weighted to stay put when the arm extends. It plugs straight in with no assembly required.
