Sunset Projection Lamp

A projection lamp does not light a room so much as paint it. This one throws a warm circular gradient across a wall or ceiling, brightest at the center and fading out through orange into red at the edges, which reads convincingly as low evening sun coming through a window that is not there.

The head rotates and the angle adjusts, so the size and position of the halo change depending on how far back you place it and how steeply you aim it. Close to a wall it becomes a tight, saturated disc; pulled back it stretches into a wide wash across a whole corner. Most people find the effect stronger in a room that is otherwise dark.

It runs from USB, so it can sit on a shelf, a desk or the floor without needing a wall outlet nearby, and it has become a fixture in photography and video setups for exactly that flexibility. Do not look directly into the lens at close range, and give the housing room to ventilate rather than covering it with fabric.
