Walnut is the darkest of the common furniture timbers, and a walnut finish on a ceiling fitting is an unusual choice that pays off. Against white plaster it reads as a deliberate dark shape rather than disappearing, and it ties the light to the floor and furniture below.

The finish also does something to the light itself. Some output reflects off the warm surface before it reaches the room, and it comes back slightly warmer than it left, which is a subtle difference you notice most in a living room in the evening.

The diffuser spreads the LED evenly across the face so there are no visible dots and no bright core when you look up from a sofa. Two sizes are offered - 40 cm and 50 cm diameter - so it works from a bedroom through to a main living space.
