Wave Resin & Acacia Serving Board

Pouring resin into a live-edge acacia board turns a chopping surface into a piece worth putting on a table. The resin is colored to read as water breaking against the timber, and because the wood edge it follows is natural, the wave line is different on every board made.

Acacia is the right timber for it: dense, closely grained, and warm-toned enough to contrast properly with a blue or green pour. It is a hardwood that stands up to serving use rather than a decorative softwood that marks the moment anything is put on it.

Treat it as a serving and presentation board rather than a chopping block. Cutting directly on the resin will scratch it, and the resin is not intended to take knife work. Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, dry immediately, and never put it in a dishwasher or soak it, both of which will split the wood and lift the resin over time. Oil the timber occasionally with a food-safe board oil.
